Damage to MbPT’s Marine
Loading Arms (MLAs)
at Fourth Oil Berth
(FOB), Marine Oil Terminal
(MOT), Jawahar Dweep
(JD), MbPT by the Shipping
Corporation of India’s
(SCI’s) Vessel “M.T.
Rajendra Prasad” on
15.05.2000 while sailing
out.
Certification regarding
successful completion/commissioning
of the two new
MLAs 1 & 2 and the
repaired MLA 3.
In connection with the
subject damage and the
subsequent claim made
by MbPT on SCI, it was
jointly agreed by both
SCI and MbPT, that MbPT
will undertake the execution
of the replacement/repair
work in making good
the damages. MbPT awarded
3 contracts, one on
FMC Europe S.A. France
for the supply of two
new MLAs (from Malaysia)
and spare parts for
the third MLA (from
France), one on Lloyds
Steel Industries Ltd,
Mumbai for the repairs,
installation, testing
and commissioning of
the MLAs and one contract
for the civil works.

& Son (SDE)
were appointed
by MbPT as their
Freight Forwarders
and Customs/Clearing
House Agents
for all the
imported components,
Logistics handling
and Customs
clearance work. |

entire work
was successfully
executed under
MbPT’s coordination
and supervision.
As per the progress
of the work,
invoices were
raised on SCI,
for reimbursement
of costs. |

commissioned on
schedule. |

transit handling
damages noticed
upon arrival
of the imported
consignments
and pursued
and ensured
that MbPT receive
the additional
recoveries on
this count amounting
to US$8922.16
from the Insurance
companies. Sorab
Engineer is
a thorough professional,
committed to
his client and
delivers. I
have only one
thing to say.
Just leave everything
to him. |

to MbPT in ensuring
the smooth clearance
of all the imported
cargo/availability
of their Surveyors
at all the stages
with a view
to ensuring
that MbPT successfully
completes/commission
